In July, Edgartown selectmen signed off on an ambitious three-site utility scale solar energy project town leaders expect will generate enough solar electricity to power all town buildings, and provide excess power to sell.
BrightSource Energy, Inc., a leading solar thermal technology company, today launched a new solar thermal power plant solution for utilities. Called SolarPLUSTM, the offering combines BrightSource’s high-efficiency LPT power tower solar thermal technology with proven two-tank molten salt storage.
Missouri’s rebates for solar energy systems appear to have survived a legal challenge. But some changes are likely for the rebate program — and possibly for the state’s wider mandate to use more renewable electricity. The director of the Missouri Retail Association, which at one point got the rebates declared unconstitutional, said Friday that his group would ask the courts to drop the matter.
